Staining Tips

• Apply WOODS™ Prespray from one end of a board to the other.
• On vertical surfaces, always work from the bottom up.
• Store unused products in airtight container.
• All four sides and ends should be treated with one coat of WOODS™ Prespray
• Do not dilute any of these products.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight, when wood is hot, when wood is wet, when temperature is below 5° C, or when rain or freezing will occur within 24 hours.
• Do not use WOODS™ products over surfaces that have been cleaned with bleaches, TSP, etc. or coated with other products.

Application

Three Simple Steps

• Step 1 - Prepare
  • The wood surface must be dry and free of dirt, oil, grease, wax, rust, mildew and any other surface contamination. Use the appropriate WOODS™ Exterior Conditioner to prepare your wood for finishing.

   

• Step 2 - Protect
  • Apply WOODS™ Prespray as an initial coating on new surfaces that are in transit or under construction.
  • For best results apply in temperatures between 15ºC and 20ºC.
  • Apply WOODS™ Prespray with a brush, roller or low pressure airless sprayer.
  • On horizontal surfaces any puddles that have not been absorbed after 5 minutes should be brushed out. Runs should be brushed out before drying.
  • Allow surface to dry for 24 to 48 hours.

   

• Step 3 - Preserve
  • Once structure has been erected, follow with a WOODS™ Exterior Finish.

Caution: This product will be damages if frozen. Store at temperatures above 5ºC.
