Application
of
WOODS™
Roof Treatment
When applying WOODS™
Roof Treatment, it is suggested you first test in on a sample of the wood
to be finished. The actual color of
the stain will depend on the type of wood, its natural color, texture, grain
and porosity.

Application
Three
Simple Steps
- Step 1 - Prepare
- Use WOODS™
New Wood Conditioner to open pores and clean surfaces. (See WOODS™
New Wood Conditioner instruction sheet).
- Work from top down in a 1 to 1.5 meters (4 to 5 foot) swath.
- Important Note: Take precautions
to protect shrubs, pool, automobiles, and furniture as well as neighbors
property against overspray.
- Step 2 - Protect
- The most desirable method of application is low pressure or airless
sprayer.
- Carefully choose the appropriate treatment for your wood roof.
- Apply a flood coat of WOODS™
Roof Treatment. Work from the top down.
- Pay close attention to any run-off from gutters and downspouts using
soap and water to clean up.
- Coverage is approximately 7 square meters (75 square feet) per gallon
of WOODS™
Roof Treatment.
- Note: There is no benefit
to dipping shakes before they are installed. Dipping will use 4 times the amount of stain.
- Step 3 - Preserve
- An annual inspection and cleaning will help preserve your shakes and
finish.
- A periodic touch up may be necessary depending on exposure and conditions.
